This body of work focuses on nature and color. The use of circular canvases was the base for this project and adds a fluidity to the paintings that an angular canvas would not allow for. The roundness couple with the close up shots of each subject also offer a scientific feel to the pieces, as if we are looking at them through a microscope. The Fibonacci sequence/ golden ratio is very present in each painting, in the patterns of the reptiles’ scales and the symmetry of the flowers petals.

Color is very important to me when I paint. It’s because many times the world around me seems dull and brown. I know what colors nature has to offer yet they never seem to be present in my corner of the Earth so I paint with them instead. Having bright pieces of artwork in any space makes me feel happier and more comfortable in my surroundings. Texture is something that I strive to have in my paintings. I want people to be able to see my brushstrokes and the physicality of the paint on the canvas. I also use texture, or the physicality of the paint, to show movement and depth in my work. When the two are combined they can transport you to a whole new world, living inside of that painting, where you are free to imagine anything happening.
